From Reflection to Celebration: Why Birthdays Mean More Than Parties to me- #293
I find myself celebrating other people's birthdays, more than I have for myself on my birthdays.
For the past two years , my birthdays haven't been my favorite days, it has just been a day to me. Days I find myself sitting on my own, reflecting on my growth and actions over the past years . Birthday's give us opportunities to reflect on our growth.
Regardless , I love seeing people happy on their birthday. I love it when they feel celebrated and special on their birthday, especially those I love and appreciate. I really appreciate the blessings and gifts on my birthday, and also appreciate everyone.
Birthdays of those that I respect and care about is something I anticipate for, just like my parents and siblings.
Whether it is organizing a small gathering, sending heartfelt messages, or simply spending quality time with a friend or family member, I enjoy helping others feel celebrated .
My own birthday, I choose and prefer a quiet. For me, my birthday isn't about party's anymore to me, but mostly about reflections and growth. I celebrate myself on my birthday, but it's not about party's gathering the crowd .
Birthdays are always a reminder of time and stages of growth every year and birthdays are also opportunities to celebrate ourselves.
I always practice gratitude and on my birthdays I practice gratitude extra, because it's always a privilege to see a new year. Seeing a new age in good health and in the right place is a thing to be grateful for.
Also, a reflection on the blessings of God, people, life and everyone that has crossed paths with me in life.
For my next birthday, my ideal celebration would definitely be spending time with family and friends and celebrating those who love me. Would definitely have a lovely and admirable time to eat, drink and be merry, because life is worth celebrating, especially with those who love us.
Create memories and enjoy the moment, while reflecting and hoping for a better year ahead.
Another act of kindness I will really like to practice on my next/ upcoming birthday, is showing love and kindness to others on the street, homes for orphans and rehabs to show love to others. Visiting a place where I get to meet people who deserve kindness and love in a cruel world is something I would love to do, and I hope to achieve that on my next birthday too.
Lastly, to me, celebrating my birthday is good and I'm worth it, but celebrating with others is something I do more often, and I love it when I celebrate with other people.
Also, I have also realized the importance of celebrating ourselves, because I have to celebrate myself, express thankfulness and look forward to a future with so much hope and purposes.
This is my response to this week LOH prompt:
Do you like celebrating your own birthday? Or are you more of a celebrator of other people's birthdays? What would you like to do for your next birthday?
