Splinterlands: Use Double Strike and Bloodlust together and see the magic happen!🔥

While there are many enjoyable battles every day, some stand out—moments where specific powers combine to create a magical effect, making it feel as though you’ve discovered a unique synergy. Today, after a long time, I played one such amazing battle. I realize the synergy I’m discussing isn't exactly a novel discovery—many players likely use it, and I’m sure there are counters to it—but even if victory isn't guaranteed, this strategy gives you a significant upper hand against the opponent. In today's battle, played under the 'Outsider' ruleset, only two elements—Fire and Earth—were active. I play with the Earth element frequently, so today I decided to try something with Fire. To serve as the 'Archon' for the team, I chose 'Hanv'—the Legendary Archon of the Undead bloodline. I made this choice because the Fire cards available to me generally lack high speed; Hanv not only grants the 'Deflect' ability to himself and supporting Goblin bloodline units but also bestows 'Swiftness' and 'Double Strike' upon a chosen card. While the 'Double Strike' ability applies to only one selected unit, the 'Swiftness' ability boosts the speed of all units by +1.

In this battle, the 'Outsider' ability gave me the freedom to summon a wild card, so I chose 'Grum Flameblade'—a legendary melee attack card from the Chaos set. As far as I know, this is the only card outside the Gladiator set that possesses the 'Bloodlust' ability. The only issue is that it is extremely slow; however, its 'Void' ability gives it a strong defensive edge against enemies on the battlefield. Speed ​​remains a problem, though, as it often ends up acting late in the turn—frequently after having already taken a heavy beating from the enemy. Furthermore, if the opponent is heavily armored, the 'Bloodlust' ability doesn't prove very effective. Strategically, I placed it right behind a tank with the 'Flank' ability to grant it 'Reach,' thereby offering some protection against initial attacks. I also selected it to receive the 'Double Strike' and 'Swiftness' abilities from 'Archon.' Why? Let me show you rather than just tell you.

Oh, and I also included a card with the 'Inspire' ability at the end of the lineup because I wanted to boost the attack power of all my melee cards. I placed it last, fully aware that an enemy with the 'Sneak' ability would likely target and eliminate it first; however, given the remaining mana cost after selecting my other cards, any attack card I could have chosen would have had only basic stats. So, I opted for a card that—while unable to attack itself—would empower the rest of the team. Even if it got knocked out by an enemy with 'Sneak,' my main attackers would have had that time to strike freely. Thanks to its increased speed and 'Double Strike' ability, this 'wild card' of mine destroyed the enemy's armor and then depleted their entire health bar in just two attacks during the very first round. Immediately afterward, its 'Bloodlust' ability activated, boosting all its stats by +1—meaning the card was now more powerful, faster, and tougher than before.

On three other occasions, this Wild Card—when its turn arrived—knocked out the enemy with 'Double Strike' before boosting its own strength via 'Bloodlust'. I have utilized this synergy before, and the result is consistently effective; the card boasts impressive base attack power—further enhanced by an 'Inspire' ability—complemented by 'Double Strike' and superior speed. All these factors combine to turn the card into a veritable killing machine, leaving any opposing card facing it with slim chances of survival. This strategy would be even more potent if it were a Magic card, as magic attacks typically bypass armor to strike the enemy's health directly; however, given its high attack power, it works exceptionally well as a melee card too. 'Grum Flameblade' was one of my earliest purchases when I first joined Splinterlands; while I currently use it primarily under specific rulesets, I hope to play in 'Survival Mode' next season, where this card will be fully ready to be summoned into my deck.
