Splinterlands: Unlocked Silver 2 in Frontier and Silver 1 in Modern!🔥

Last season, I couldn't strike a balance between the two battle modes; I performed significantly better in Frontier—in terms of battles played, wins, and ranking progress—compared to Modern, which caused me to lag a bit in the latter. Of course, that hardly matters as long as you're enjoying the game, but I also need to focus on deck building. Since Frontier's reward system yields only Foundation Set cards and related consumables, while Modern's rewards include Arcana Set cards, playing just one mode makes it impossible to collect cards from both sets. So, this season, I’ve decided to play both modes equally and aim for better rankings in each. With that goal in mind, late last night I unlocked Tier 2 of the Silver League in Frontier mode and Tier 1 of the Silver League in Modern mode, earning a heap of welcome gifts in the process.

Here is another distinct advantage: Frontier offers more rewards—specifically a higher number of chests—compared to Modern. Even if you consider cards from the Arcana set superior based on their monetary value, Frontier yields a greater quantity of rewards; let me give you an example. Upon unlocking Tier 2 of the Silver League in Frontier, I received a total of 10 Minor and 5 Major chests, whereas unlocking Tier 1 of the Silver League in Modern gave me only 6 Minor and 3 Major chests—even though, in terms of league progression, Tier 1 is actually higher than Tier 2. Admittedly, I had intended to use my potions for both sets of rewards; however, after using Legendary and Alchemy potions in Frontier, I completely forgot to check my inventory for Modern and realized too late that I had run out of Legendary potions. So, take this as a lesson: before claiming any rewards, always ensure you have a sufficient supply of all the necessary potions.

Let’s first discuss the 'Frontier Silver 2' rewards shown in the screenshots above and below. Generally, I rarely come across cards I dislike—though I did receive one recently that was truly useless. However, none of the cards here are bad or without utility; in fact, I use all of them in my daily battles. For instance, 'Dire Bear' is an excellent tank card, and 'Nim Guard Captain' proves to be a strong choice when playing with the Death element—especially because its 'Headache' ability counters magic attacks effectively. 'Hungry Ulund' is a solid ranged attacker with a reasonable mana cost; while its low health makes it somewhat vulnerable, it can still be used strategically in low-mana battles. Additionally, 'New Beluroc Aegis' makes for an excellent tank for the Grey element. I often place it in the second or last position alongside another tank to fully leverage its 'Taunt' ability, which gives my team's primary attackers plenty of room to launch continuous assaults on the enemy. Overall, I am quite pleased with these welcome rewards and hope to use them to level up some of the cards in my deck.

In the screenshot below, you can see the rewards obtained upon unlocking Tier 1 of the Silver League in Modern Mode. Out of the nine total chests, three contained six Alchemy Potions, while the remaining six yielded excellent cards—including two Rare ones. Much like the Frontier Rewards cards, these are cards I use almost daily; notably, I upgraded the 'Anchor-Hex Adept' to Level 2 just yesterday, and this new copy will help advance it to Level 3. Additionally, I received two copies each of 'Stonebind' and 'Coralforged'. 'Coralforged' proves to be a solid tank option thanks to its 'Flank' ability—something I have tested personally on several occasions. While I own other, more powerful cards with the 'Flank' ability, this card becomes quite useful when adjusting my lineup for specific strategies. All these cards are excellent and are already part of my deck; I am currently working on upgrading all my deck's cards to higher levels. One crucial point to remember is that no matter how high the level of your cards becomes, you need equally high-level Archons to utilize them; therefore, ensure your Archons are upgraded to match your card levels.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
