The evolution of communication
Communication is important for human survival. It's a necessary part of our lives. Everyday we communicate with eachother. In a way, it gives life meaning.
Years ago, we communicated via letters. People would send letters across far distances. The communication wasn't so effective then because of how long it took for letters to get to their destination.
Then came the telephones. It was expensive and rare at first using telephones to communicate. However, with time, technology got better. We can easily communicate via phones now. The internet even accelerated things. Through the internet, communication is now as easy and real as ever.
People stay at opposite ends of the world and instantly, send messages to each other. It's not just texts, it's images and videos as well.
People can communicate via video calls. It's almost as if the distance doesn't matter anymore.
I begin to wonder if the next stage of human communication would be telepathic. Our technology is advancing at a fast rate and I think technology is how we could make this happen.
As a matter of fact we are getting close to telepathic communication. We have brain computer interface now. A typical example is neuralink. A chip is planted in the brain of people who are disabled and they are able to communicate their thoughts through a computer. They can operate a computer device just with a thought.
Who would have imagined we would achieve this level of technological advancement at this stage. We are still a long way from full blown telepathic communication between eachother, but there's a good chance we could get there. There's also a chance that we might never get there. Either way, the future is exciting.
I'm am open to a possibility of communicating telepathically with others. Although there are valid concerns. Thoughts are usually private. Sometimes we can't control out thoughts. What if our thoughts no longer becomes private and people are able to read our thoughts.
It could cause a lot of distrust, conflict and problems. Unpalatable thoughts would no longer be hidden. Despite this concern, I still believe achieving telepathic communication would be revolutionary to human existence.
