Hello everyone, welcome to the Hive community blogging platform! It’s a blessing that I can write again today 🙏. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share a bit about myself with those who may not know me. I’m from South Africa, and I love writing about food and my family.

My dad is a very special person in our lives. He’s always there to help and listen when I need advice. Truly, he is one of a kind. He turned 70.

Recently, my sister-in-law came from Pretoria for a visit, and we planned a surprise party for my dad.

We held the party at a small restaurant called Savanna, located a few kilometers outside of town, where we also live. The lady at the restaurant baked a beautiful cake along with some cupcakes, and we decorated them beautifully.

There was a wide variety of food to choose from!

• For starters, we had chicken soup with toast.

• For the main course, there was plenty to enjoy, including chicken pie, rice, baked potatoes, mixed vegetables, beef, and sweet pumpkin balls.

•For dessert, we had custard and malva pudding, and whipped cream

It was a lovely celebration, and I think my dad really appreciated it!

This family is very special to me. They are always kind and I am thankful that they are in my life.
