Changes in Sivri Tepe Over the Last Two Months, Tatvan, Turkey

Where I live, there was so much snow this year that people were separated from nature for a long time. The season at Nemrut Crater, a natural wonder, usually opens at the beginning of May, but this year, due to heavy rainfall, it opened at the beginning of June. There was a one-month delay. I will compare the photo I took on June 5th, 2026 with the photos I took at the end of July.

Yaşadığım yerde bu yıl çok fazla kar yağdığından dolayı uzun bir süre insanlar doğadan ayrı kaldı. Bir doğa mucizesi olan Nemrut Kraterinde sezon mayıs ayı başında açılır, ancak bu yıl yoğun yağıştan dolayı sezon haziran ayının başında açıldı. The highest point in the Nemrut Crater is Sivri Tepe, at approximately 2900 meters. When you reach Sivri Tepe, you feel all the beauty spread out below you. Snow accumulation still remains in some areas. The trees just below Sivri Tepe are not yet green. The temperature difference between that area and where I am is approximately 3.5 degrees Celsius.

Nemrut Kraterinde en yüksek yer yaklaşık 2900 metre ile Sivri Tepe. Sivri Tepe çıkıldığı zaman tüm güzellikleri ayaklarınızın altında hissediyorsunuz. Bazı bölgelerde kar birinkintisi halen duruyor. Sivri Tepe'nin hemen alt tarafındaki ağaçlar yeşermiş değil. O bölgedeki sıcaklık farkı ile bulunduğum yerdeki sıcaklık farkı yaklaşık 3.5 derece.

Normally, trees don't grow at 2900 meters, but due to the microclimate effect, trees are growing here.

It's been about two months since I took the first photo, maybe a little shorter. The snow has completely melted. If it weren't for the microclimate effect, the snow wouldn't have melted in that area even now. The fact that it's on a south-facing slope also plays a role; snow melts a little slower on north-facing slopes.

İlk çektiğim fotoğraf üzerinden yaklaşık iki ay geçti, biraz daha kısa bir süre de olabilir. Kar tamamen erimiş durumda. Mikroklima etkisi olmasa karlar şimdi bile o bölgede erimemiş olacaktı. Ayrıca güney yamacında olmasının da etkisi var. Kuzey yamaçlarda kar biraz daha geç eriyor.

The snow has completely melted on Sivri Tepe. The trees in that area look lush green. Although it looks like a handful from a distance, it's a vast area. Many species of animals thrive in the green space just below the rocks. Bears, predators, and partridges, seeking refuge from humans, find shelter in that region. The biodiversity in the area is quite high. The presence of bears in an area also indicates high biodiversity. A predator descending from Sivri Tepe to the lake could hunt fish there.

Sivri Tepe'de karlar tamamen eridi. O bölgede bulunan ağaçlar yemyeşil gözüküyor. Uzaktan bir avuç gibi görünse de devasa bir alan orası. Hemen kayalıkların altında yeşeren alanda bir çok canlı türü yetişiyor. İnsanlardan uzak kalmak isteyen ayılar, yırtıcı hayvanlar, keklikler o bölgede barınıyor. Bölgedeki biyoçeşitlilik oldukça fazla. Bir bölgede ayının yaşaması biyoçeşitliliğin fazla olduğu anlamına da gelir. Sivri Tepe'den göle inen yırtıcı bir hayvan gölden balık avlayabilir.
