Microblogging for Profits on Hive

At this time when the price of HIVE is relatively low, earnings on long form posts has drastically reduced, making it harder to earn meaningful rewards no matter the effort you put into writing quality content.

This may not be the same for everyone on the platform, but for those of us with smaller following and unknown on the platform earning on long form posts is now something we can only dream of. Even when you get lucky to be upvoted by a community curation account, the rewards are often always small. Not because your content is poor, but due to the price of HIVE being an all time low which impact rewards across the platform.

Usually, a 5% upvotes from most community curation trail used to be something significant and satisfying but now even a 20% upvotes from the same community curation trail doesn't move a needle in terms of actual value. It's also important to know that getting upvoted by a curation account is like taking part in a lottery because there are hundreds of others competing for the same attention with limited curation resources available daily. This is why I personally decided to take microblogging seriously even though I still have to make long form posts daily.

I took time to evaluate my activities on the platform and realized that I have been missing out of potential earning opportunities by not taking microblogging seriously. I was only doing inleo thread posts occasionally, just to show up or when I felt particularly inspired to share something and pass some time on the platform, but never as a deliberate strategy to earn more rewards. Now, I realized I have been missing out on a way to earn consistently with less efforts compared to long form posts.

Last week I decided to start posting and engaging with commitment on the microblogging side of Hive to see what different it could make in my earning in a week. And now, I have come to realize that I have been leaving money on the table by not taking microblogging seriously before now.

I thought about people who do microblogging on Twitter and other social media platforms and how they treat it like a full time job by posting multiple times daily and engaging with their audience consistently until they get monetized, and thought to myself, why not do that on Hive where I don't have to wait for months before I can start earning.

While I was doing long form posts mostly with little microblogging, my weekly earnings in liquid HIVE never exceeded 30 to 35 HIVE per week, but for just one week of serious microblogging across the three major microblogging platforms on Hive ( inleo Thread, PeakD Snap and Ecency Waves), my earnings that I accumulated over for a week have surpassed 50 HIVE.

This is not small amount of not that the price of HIVE is currently at its lowest ever in the history of the platform. Even with the lowest price, having the ability to earn for engagement counts is a significant win. Moreover, with microblogging, everyone has equal opportunity to earn reward based on consistency and the quality of engagement without waiting for a community curation trail to upvote your post. With microblogging, community curation become an additional bonus if you are lucky to get it.

My experiment for first week of serious microblogging has proven to be a game changer for my earnings, and I am now more determine than ever to take this microblogging on Hive more seriously and make out plan for how I engage on the platform going forward. If people on Twitter can use between 7 to 10 hours daily on microblogging competing with algorithm to get visibility and earn from engagement then I should do the same on Hive where I am not in a competition with anyone.
