Decluttering - Organizing - Pot Roast in a Jar - by Sunscape

Continuing with my decluttering story which has been an ongoing process. One gloomy, snowy day I started going through one of my dressers to sort out some clothes. I've dropped 22 lbs. since starting my #keto diet and I wanted to let go of some of my larger-sized pants and shorts before spring comes. I had worn one of my favorite pants to the grocery store and had to keep pulling them up the whole time. I don't plan on putting any weight back on, so it was time to get the job done.

Of course, I had a supervisor lying in the middle of my bed investigating every item as I tried it on. Mika could not understand why I kept changing out my clothes. Perhaps she thought I was going out shopping or something.

It took me almost two hours just going through all the drawers on the largest dresser. The worst part was #organizing the sock drawer and putting pairs back together. Then by the time I had tried every pair of pants and shorts on, I was done for. My lower back started aching and the muscles tightened, so that was the most I could do for that day. I did end up with 1 very large bag of decent items that could be donated. I wish I had taken photos of the mess I made while going through everything, but alas, I was too focused.

Pot Roast in a Jar

I followed a recipe from the New Ball Canning Book for this Pot Roast in a Jar.

Back in August I canned a few different meals in quart jars for the pantry along with some beef and pork to use in different recipes. We also enjoy different soups during the winter months, and I canned a few of our favorites too. I always like to take photos while I'm cooking, and I made this meal the last week of January.

All that was needed to do was simmer the contents in a pan and add in 2 T. of flour. It simmered for a bit and thickened nicely while the brown rice was cooking. Making this meal for dinner was so easy and it really was tasty. It will certainly be a staple for the pantry shelves going forward since we both really liked the flavor.

Now, I can declutter these photos as I use them as I have way too many to catch up with for posting. It feels so good to get rid of the excess that's no longer needed. Right?
