Tumor Circus

Would you look at that, it's #ninetiesfriday already. I found an LP in the stack that I wanted to feature today but it's 100% #eighties, so I'll have to save that for whatever day is 80s day.

Today let's take a look/listen to a short lived Jello Biafra band, Tumor Circus.

Tumor Circus was a collaboration between Jello Biafra and members of Steel Pole Bath Tub and Grong Grong. They released one self-titled album in 1991. The above song also features late GWAR vocalist, David Brockie on backing vocals.

Alternative Tentacles is a record company started by Jello and Dead Kennedys guitarist East Bay Ray in 1979.

I had a good friend in high school that was a Dead Kennedys superfan, so I listened as well and came to enjoy Jello Biafra. He's done tons of collaboration albums with other bands as well as guest spots and projects like Tumor Circus. My favorite was a band called Lard, which was Jello and Ministry together. Good stuff.
