Zapfic50 Prompt - Slam
The heavy slam of the front door.
He was gone.
That dead silence afterwards always scared me more than his shouting.
Please God... was she ok?
My heart stopped until those soft cries crept through the paper thin walls.
I released my breath.
Those cries meant she was still alive...
My first attempt at ZapFic50Friday... I hope I did it all ok, only new here and still learning the ropes!
