Creative Writing #1 - Graduation

A sea of black mortarboards rain down over the jubilant crowd, swooping like crows fighting over roadkill.

Loud music blares triumphantly from large speakers at the side of the stage, as the student’s hug and grab each other in joyous celebration.

A wave of tension is released all in one go, as a chorus of whoops and cries mix with the music, creating a party atmosphere.

Beaming parents rush to greet their graduates, smiles like saucers plastered across their face, fighting back proud tears, sobbing and cheering at the same time, like a schizophrenic soccer fan.

A black parade pours out of the auditorium, like oil leaking from a tanker, enveloping the previously empty courtyard.

Pictures flash like paparazzi at a film premier, with more poses than an Instagram model convention…
