The Pink Shadow/Entry for Shadow Contest

My favorite color is Sky blue.

In recent times, I visited a place which did not seem fit to be my taste. The one that made me question my personality. And the place I visited had a theme of "PINK". It was pinky pink everywhere. It reminded me of "Babs Bunny". Before moving any forward, I have no idea why pink is considered as a girly color. Maybe the society made us feel this way, or maybe, it is the impact of the patriarchal society. Not to go deep, but pink is such a beautiful color.

So now, you know the reason why I said that. From interior to exterior, everything is pink. It felt like the cafe had signed a contract with the color pink. The walls were pink. The decorations were pink. Even the sunlight passing through the windows seemed to say, "Thank you, I am pink."

To make it sound poetic: one's own shadow is pink. (I forgot to save the image, feels money wasted 😭)

Oh, now, as per the patriarchal rules. I tried to maintain my dignity; however, it lasted for few seconds.

The tea stand looked professional. Tiny sandwiches, luxurious desserts, little bowls of everything - though nothing compared to my usual appetite - all arranged beautifully.

Ironically, I foundagiant pink birdcage with a swing, outside the place. Now, the creator deserves an award for understanding human nature. For this, I have two viewpoints. Firstly, you o not become a child because you sit on a swing; you discover the child who has been hiding inside you. Secondly, this world and its system is similar to this cage. There is a swing to keep us busy, yet we fail to realise it is a cage. Choose the one you like :)

In the end, I left with a half-stomach. Few clicks, and a newfound respect for the color. Fifty shades of Pink!
