Slapping Exercise gone viral
A beauty salon in China is making headlines for its controversial way of trying to promote team morale among its employees. A video posted online Dec. 17 shows several women kneeling on a stage and repeatedly slapping each other in the face. The footage was taken at a gala marking the 14th anniversary of the Jinhuayuan Beauty Salon in eastern China’s Jiangxi province. An employee said the exercise was designed to boost team spirit. The video quickly went viral, generating a buzz on Chinese social media, with many criticizing the salons treatment of its workers. This isn’t the first time a Chinese company garnered attention for its unusual ways of supposedly motivating employees. The South China Morning Post reports a company in Jilin province made its salesmen crawl on a busy street last year after they underperformed.
