Lo incómodo de saber

Ayer veía un video de Freddy Vega (dueño de Platzi), en el que decía que la única forma de aprender es cuando nos incomodamos. El lugar seguro es tranquilo, allí nos desenvolvemos muy bien y nos sentimos "en control". Lo que es nuevo, nos lleva a tener pensamientos y sensaciones previamente desconocidos. Podemos asustarnos ante esto, y también podemos decidir permanecer allí, con susto incluido, si sabemos que el crecimiento es la recompensa. Apender nunca será fácil, ni cómodo. Pero a la larga puede llevarnos a mundos verdaderamente únicos y enriquecidos.

Yesterday I watched a video by Freddy Vega (founder of Platzi), in which he said that the only way to learn is when we step out of our comfort zone. A safe place is peaceful; there, we function very well and feel “in control.” What is new leads us to have previously unknown thoughts and feelings. We may be frightened by this, and we may also decide to stay there, fear and all, if we know that growth is the reward. Learning will never be easy or comfortable. But in the long run, it can lead us to truly unique and enriching worlds.
