Días difíciles...

Mi país vivió una tragedia.
Sentimos dolor por lo que trajo consigo este desastre,
las pérdidas humanas y materiales, las fracturas físicas y emocionales.
No es algo que "ya pasó". Vemos las caras de nuestros hermanos,
llenas de polvo, cansancio y lágrimas,
es algo que todavía se está viviendo.
Se siente como una pesadilla.
Solo nos queda abrazarnos, llamarnos, cuidarnos.
Y enviar todas las ayudas posibles, en forma de insumos, dinero y palabras de aliento y consuelo.

My country has experienced a tragedy.
We grieve for what this disaster has brought—
the loss of life and property, the physical and emotional wounds.
This isn’t something that’s “already over.” We see the faces of our brothers and sisters,
covered in dust, exhaustion, and tears—
it’s something we’re still living through.
It feels like a nightmare.
All we can do is embrace one another, reach out to one another, and take care of one another.
And send all the aid we can—in the form of supplies, money, and words of encouragement and comfort.
