Puede que al inicio no sepamos muy bien cómo ayudar, y que sintamos culpa por la vida que sigue andando en otro lugar. Podemos sentirnos abrumados por las noticias, enojados al tener tanta información sobre la inoperancia del sistema político y gubernamental, y deseosos de abrazar y consolar a nuestras familias. Todo esto es absolutamente normal, hace parte de emigrar y vivir, en la distancia, un evento trágico ya no solo para nuestras familias, sino para todo un país.
Tratáte con consideración estos días, permítete descansar y expresa todo lo que sientes, el dolor se elabora hablando.

Seeing everything related to the earthquake in Venezuela on your phone evokes fear and a sense of helplessness.
At first, we may not know exactly how to help, and we might feel guilty about life going on as usual elsewhere. We may feel overwhelmed by the news, angry at the wealth of information regarding the failure of the political and governmental systems, and desperate to hug and comfort our families. All of this is completely normal; it is part of the experience of emigrating and living—from afar—through a tragedy that affects not only our families but an entire country.
