Wanming Pagoda

The picture was taken in Fenghuang ancient town, Tujia and Miao Nationalities Autonomous Prefecture of Xaingxi, Hunan Province.

Wanming Pagoda, formerly known as a turriform furnace built in the Qing Dynasty, was rebuilt in 1985 and used for incineration of waste manuscript paper.

The pagoda stands at the north shore of Tuojiang River in the east of Fenghuang ancient town, it is 21 meters high, built of bricks and highly decorated.

At night, the pagoda and its surrounding buildings constitute a touching landscape, it is dimly visible in the river.
