The lemon drink of sreemangal is one of the most refreshing and iconic beverages in Bangladesh. Known locally as lebur sorbot.It is specially famous for It's unique flavour and cooling effect in the tropical climate. Peopl from all over the country visit sreemangal not only for its tea garden but also to taste the this special drink.Sreemangal often called the tea capital of Bangladesh is located in the northeastern region of Bangladesh. The area is filled with lush green tea estates, forests and hills.Amidst this natural beauty this simple yet delightful lemon drink has become symbol of hospitality and local culture. The main ingredients of lebur shorbot is fresh lemon. However what makes sreemangal's version special is the use of different varieties of lemons.Some shops are sited on the side of the hill.The preparation of the drink is simple but requires skill,fresh lemon juice is mixed with cold water,sugar sometimes a pinch of salt.The balance between sweet, sour,and slightly salty creates a perfect harmony that refreshes the body instantly. The lemon drink is specially popular for summer season.
