LESSONS RETIREMENT HAS TAUGHT ME

SOME PEOPLE RETIRE INTO WHEELCHAIR DUE TO IGNORANCE ‼️

I pose with this wonderful plant today; it's called “blood tonic”. Boil it for a few minutes and it turns red, just like blood. It's a wonderful local tea; it's believed to nurture the blood. Honestly, nature has provided more than enough for us.

A man in my office retired after 80 years; he thought he was cheating the company, but ended up cheating himself. He refused to retire after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 65. However, it was clear that he wasn't younger, but he kept reducing his age using an age declaration certificate. He was fooling himself because he slept at meetings and was visibly senile. When he finally retired, he lived a few years before he became physically paralysed and ended up in a wheelchair. I learned great lessons and vowed not to make such mistakes.

The lessons life has taught me are things I wish I knew much earlier, and I believe they can help young people starting life, workers preparing for retirement, and retirees searching for purpose again. Let me share some:-

Let me start with health, which I believe is the greatest asset; always remember that health is wealth. I do all within my power to eat healthy foods, get involved in basic physical exercises like taking a walk in the morning and evening; I love football, hence, I juggle the ball daily to keep fit. I read books that appeal to me in order to maintain good mental health. I'm very much conscious of Sir Francis Bacon's idea about reading, writing and conferring.

I believe that learning should be part of life; I did research on platforms that could help me to learn and earn and Hive was one of the strongest options. That's why I'm here. I'm eager to learn from Web3 platforms; I'm also selling digital products via affiliate marketing.

One of my greatest discoveries in wealth creation is recorded in Ecclesiastes chapter 11; it's about multiple streams of income. I'm passionate about making money online via gigs like content creation, affiliate marketing, crypto, etcetera; I also love farming. Here my interest is in snails, catfish and poultry. Combining both online and offline streams of income will surely make my retirement life fantastic.

At 66, I don't believe in speed, but consistently; I'm out to enjoy what I'm doing. Small daily effort is helping me live the kind of life I want. Retirement has taught me that usefulness does not expire with age. I'm very happy to retire when I'm still active; in fact, I wish I retired earlier. How I wish I had read Robert Kiyosaki's “Ritire Young Ritire Rich” before I retired‼️
