The first impression that matters
Greetings!
The saying that says, “First impressions last longer,” is not just an ordinary saying, but a saying with deeper meaning. I have over the times been both a positive and negative victim of what we now see and called first impression.
It's on the note that I would love to delve into the topic of the prompt before me in the SciFi multiverse community weekly prompt which is all about, “The power of first impression.”
Before I proceed, I would like to let you know that a first impression is not just an impression, but an impression that would always be remembered by the persons involved and this is because, the first impression would always be about a new person and whatever behaviour if this said person would surely go a long way in what the person who you are presenting yourself to for the first time would have about you.
Like I said earlier, I have tried to impress people by pretending who I was not and at the end what the person had for me was a negative impression as I really fumbled with myself in the presence of that person. Although, I tried to redeem myself and my image, but all to no avail, as my attitude and the presentation of myself in the presence of that person still lingers till tomorrow.
However, it's after this shameful scenario that I realised that it would be good for me to maintain my original self and stop pretending in the presence of people all in the name of trying to please them. So, when I next met with another person, I decided to be my real self and this really helped me even with the person as this said person commended me for my rightful presentation and this really helped to connect me.
So, by this, I realised that being one's real self matters a lot in making one to have a positive first impression that would live on even when we are no more and that's why I still advise us humans to always be ourselves and not who we are not.
Thanks for sharing.
