Live A Life That Truly Matters

It is not how long you have lived that truly matters but what you have done with your life, and how you have truly lived. It is true that everyone desires a life that truly matters. But what a lot of people think it means may just be about fame, success, or achievements. While these things are good, but it is how you have used them to make someone else's life better is what matters, and makes your life meaningful. Living a meaningful life is guided by purpose. It is when your life has a purpose that you will know what to do and how to do them, which also leads to progress. It is a life of purpose that makes you to leave a lasting impact in the lives of others even when you are already gone.

Living a life that truly matters is achieved by a conscious, intentional, consistent, effort that you have to put in, the choices you make, and a commitment to become a better version of who you were. Making impact in life and living a life of purpose is not a function of age, background, your current situation, or even your qualifications, but a function of your willingness to make a change, and the choices you make. No matter where you are now, the truth is that you can begin to build a life that is both significant and successful. Where you started from is not as important as how you are moving and the progress you are making.

In order to live a life that truly matters, you first need to discover what truly matters to you. That is, discover what you are built for, what you have passion for, and what makes meaning to you. With this, it will be easier for your daily actions to be aligned towards it. It is your purpose that gives direction and meaning to your life. It is not just about doing everything, nor is it about being busy, but it is about doing what brings you growth, what brings you fulfillment, and what you will be remembered for. Ask yourself what you want to be remembered for and what difference you want to create. This will be part of what will shape your daily actions. More so, this is also what will form the building blocks for your habits, which will build your character and your future.

In addition to this, you have to be committed to continuous growth. No matter how much you know today, there will always be something else to know, and room for improvement. If you stop learning, you may stand the risk of remaining stagnant and stop growing. Develop the habit of working to improve on yourself, read books, seek new knowledge, develop new skills, and accept constructive feedbacks. You have to understand that every knowledge you get will add value to your life, improve your life, and will prepare you for better opportunities. You do not measure growth by perfection but by constant improvement. Even a seemingly small progress, over time, will produce massive result.

You also need to build your character. Your character is what you will be associated with, and it is the real you. What is real success without a good character? Your skills may grant you access to some doors, no doubt, but you will need more than that to sustain you. You will need honesty, integrity, humility, and discipline. Your character is actually revealed by the choices you make when no one is watching you. Always try to be dependable, keep your words, do not break promises, treat people with respect, and most importantly, do what is right. Having a good character will earn you trust with people, and trust is part of what bring lasting influence.

Finally, you have to learn to serve the interest of others. Achieving success without having a successor is not the true definition of success. Your achievements, your talents, and even your gifts, are not for your benefits alone. They are also meant to help humanity and serve others. Always look for opportunities to become a positive addition to others. You may not have everything you need, but the ones you have can also be used for a greater good and to help someone else. This is part of what makes you to live a life that truly matters.
