My city
has become a ghost town.
At least frozen in time
because time
carves its marks on every wall.

The night
reflects the emptiness on its cobblestones
and the cobblestones
tattoo the dust in the emptiness.

---

---

The emptiness
migrates as ghosts migrate.
The ghosts
hang their stories
and the stories
are misplaced on the balconies.

---

---

A balcony doesn't exist
except in the emptiness of its illuminated walls.

---

---

Illumination is the pretext
of those who hide the emptiness
because not even ghosts hang from its balconies.

---

---

Mi ciudad
se ha vuelto una ciudad fantasma.
Siquiera detenida en el tiempo
porque el tiempo
labra sus marcas en cada pared.

La noche
refleja el vacío sobre sus adoquines
y los adoquines
tatúan el polvo en el vacío.

---

---

El vacío
migra como migran los fantasmas.
Los fantasmas
cuelgan sus historias
y las historias
se traspapelan sobre los balcones.

---

---

Un balcón no existe
salvo en el vacío de sus paredes iluminadas.

---

---

Iluminar es el pretexto
de quien oculta el vacío
porque siquiera
los fantasmas cuelgan de sus balcones.
