Glances Between the Lines | My entry for #Monomad Challenge [ENG-ESP]

Hello, black-and-white photography lovers of Hive!

Does it ever happen to you that, on any given day, at any time, on any path, you find yourself visualizing your surroundings in black and white?

Like any photographer, as I made my way to my son’s workplace, I was on the lookout for something that might catch my eye—something that would make me stop and capture it in a photograph.

That was when I noticed a series of lines along the route that formed an intriguing pattern. I had seen them before, but never really paused to take them in.

As I approached the railway terminal, I thought about photographing details that formed a sort of recurring theme—railway lines arranged in various ways and their dynamic relationship with the approaching crossing signal.

Yet, things unfolded quite differently than I had initially imagined. A young woman found her way into the shot in a unique manner. She walked along lines on the ground, unaware that I pictured her traversing the space between lines where trains seek their destinations—though these were actually lines formed by the shadows of cables cast upon the sidewalk. You, too, might imagine other stories.

The railway crossing, with its signal lights like open eyelids possessing a life of their own, rising amidst lines that invite one to imagine a journey toward the sky...

And amidst glances and lines, I bid you farewell with a hug of light—until the next black-and-white frame!

¡Hola amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro de Hive!

¿Les sucede que un día cualquiera, a una hora cualquiera, en cualquier camino, se descubren visualizando el entorno en blanco y negro?

Como todo fotógrafo, en mi andar hacia el trabajo de mi hijo, iba en busca de algo que me llamase la atención para detenerme y perpetuarlo en algún fotograma.

Entonces descubrí a unas líneas que se iban sucediendo en el trayecto de manera curiosa. Antes las había visto, pero sin detenerme en ellas.

Iba acercándome a la terminal de ferrocarriles y pensé en fotografiar los detalles que se conformaban en una especie de temática serial sobre líneas de ferrocarril dispuestas diferentes y su dinámica relación con la señal de crucero que se aproximaba.

Y todo fluyó de manera diversa a como lo pensé inicialmente. Una chica tomó sitio en la instantánea singularmente. Ella, caminando sobre líneas en el suelo sin saber que la imaginaba transitando entre líneas donde los trenes buscan algún destino, pero eran líneas conformadas por sombras de cables proyectados en la acera. Igual podrían ustedes imaginar otras historias.

Una escultura de un león, a la derecha, como quien cuida el paso...

El crucero con sus focos como párpados abiertos y con vida propia elevándose entre líneas que invitan a imaginar un viaje hacia el cielo...

Y entre miradas y líneas, me voy despidiendo con un abrazo de luz, ¡hasta un próximo fotograma en blanco y negro!
