No Second Chances

Hello Zapfic writers! It's been a while since I made a Zapfic Monday entry, and supposedly this entry was the last one for the year 2025, but unfortunately I got too busy with other things, so I wasn't able to post anything on the last days nor the first ones. Anyway, I wanted to finally participate without fail with all the zapfic writing prompts this year, so now I share with you the short entry I made for last Zapfic Monday's prompt—improve.

Aya just ditched her cram school for three straight days.

'There's still tomorrow to attend and improve!', she assured herself.

Which unfortunately she won't have.

A speeding car suddenly made a sharp swerve towards her. Then all blacked out.

The week's prompt was really interesting because it somehow relates to my whole year writing journey. Like the main message of the short fiction I just shared, I felt that making moves to improve shouldn't be left for tomorrow. I've experienced the uncertainty of life at its finest, so the idea of regretting something that I wasn't able to do somehow scares me. That's why for this year, I'd like to highlight that mindset and avoid procrastination as much as possible. So hopefully I can embody that mindset, and that's it...that's one of the early reflections I've done this year. Sorry for the sudden realization dump—I mean, this post was supposed to be solely for my entry, but you know, this week's word prompt was just so meaningful to me. That's why I couldn't help but ramble a little, just to rearrange my thoughts and have better ones.
