One Message, Ninety-Two Smiles: Jollibee Meals for the Kiddos🍗

It’s a short story, but with a big meaning. Hi dear Hivers! Just wanna share what happened two days ago. Since we didn’t have any schedule to facilitate the kids, I was planning to rest because I also had a band gig later that afternoon until night. But then I got a message from my close friend who’s a seaman. We haven’t talked for a long time, but I think he was touched by the videos I posted of the kids we facilitated.

Honestly, my body was shaking when I read his message — not because I was nervous, but because I was so happy. He said, “I’ll send money for those children,” and he really did! He sent it through the bank, so I asked one of my close friends to come with me since it was a big amount.

We were able to buy 92 Jollibee meals, so I hurried to withdraw the money and go straight there. I got a bit worried at first because the staff said they couldn’t cater such a big order. Luckily, the manager came and after we explained it was for the kids affected by the earthquake, he allowed it. We also bought Zesto drinks since Jollibee couldn’t include drinks in that big order — they might run out otherwise.

After everything was ready, we went straight to San Rem, where the kids were staying in tents. It was super hot, but we didn’t mind. Our goal was simple — to make sure the kids could have lunch. When we got there, they were all gathered and excited, so we started handing out the meals one by one.

I was really tired, but when I saw their smiles, all my tiredness disappeared. It felt so worth it. I’m also so thankful to my friends who helped me, especially Hive account@whosee, because without them, I probably wouldn’t have managed it alone.

After that, I went home to rest for a bit — even just an hour — before getting ready for my band gig. Did my makeup, got my things ready, and prepared to go.
