Introducing Myself: Notes of a Student, Singer, and A Born Dreamer

Every life story commences with its own rhythm. Mine, in fact, did not begin with luxuries or pebbles of gold , but with a glittering microphone in hand and a stage that could sometimes feel bigger than me. It raised me with the notion that life has its own music—somewhere it plays in harmony, other times it throws noise—but through it all, I continue to breathe my own song.

This is how my life began humbly and moved.

Greetings, I’m Christine! I'm most excited to finally join Hive. Since this is my first time posting here, introducing myself would be of responsibility. I may not find the right words to capture the life I have but I hope it will reach into your heart. Without daily dallies, let the music begin!

In my keepsake’s first information, I would want you to know that I am currently a third-year psychology student in our town—Bogo City. I was born in La Paz, Bogo City, and I grew up living with my grandmother. I went to elementary school in the same town and I finished my high school at Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges. Now, I am also trying to make sense of college in the said school.

I am the second of five siblings, and growing up with my brothers and sisters has taught me a lot about sharing, caring, and working together as a family. I am also very proud of my siblings because they have been independent from a young age. They already know how to earn money to help with their studies, and they show respect to me and to our grandmother.

Our grandmother guided us well, teaching us the right values and showing us love. She has always cared for us deeply, almost like we were her own children, especially because her own children are no longer around. She focused all her love and attention on us, making sure we grow up with good manners and respect.

My everyday life is almost soaked passionately in a band— where the notes flow well alongside hitting the wrong ones. But to tell you, each day creates its own song of growth and experience. I will tell more about it later.Just keep going.

I would describe myself as a cute and jolly person. I proclaimed myself an extrovert, for I love going out and meeting new people. I really enjoy walking around and exploring new tastes of things, especially when I feel stressed, because it helps me feel better and happy. I like discovering unfamiliars and visiting new places because it gives me fun experiences and makes life more interesting.

Alongside those facts, I am now giving my time for my college endeavor. Now that I am in college, life grew louder and I have to brave the high pitches it throws. For instance, my eldest sister and I reside at my auntie's house, who is my grandmother’s child and my dad’s sibling. We both helped her with the expenses because auntie couldn't completely support our school fees—while my three younger siblings still live with our grandmother. Growing up in this family has taught me responsibility, love, and the importance of supporting one another.

Since high school, I’ve been supporting myself because my parents separated, and they weren’t able to continue providing for our education—I manage my studies while also working as a band singer during gigs. I am also a scholar in our school because of dancing. This means I need to join different events and programs whenever the school asks us to perform. Sometimes it can be tiring because we have to balance practice with our studies, but I enjoy it since dancing is something I really love. Through this, I can share my talent, make new friends, and also continue my studies with the help of the scholarship.

For me, it is not just a responsibility but also a chance to grow and enjoy my time in school. We all know it’s not always easy, but the experience has taught me independence, discipline, and how to value every small achievement.

I have always believed that learning only came from reading books. But as I grew older, I realized that we also learn a lot from life experiences. In my situation now, I’ve gained so many lessons I cannot acquire from other situations. That belief is what keeps me motivated to push through challenges, whether in school, on stage, or in personal life.

In the passion field I would say my greatest passion, obviously, is being one with music. In my early years, I have always loved singing, viewing it as a mere talent. However, as I grew older, I realized that singing is not only a talent, it is also an outlet where I can show my emotions and connect with people around me. When I sing, I feel like I can tell a story without even using too many words, and that is something very special to me.

I have been performing on stage for about two years already, and honestly, it has not always been easy. Every time I go up to sing, I still feel nervous, even if it only lasts for a short time. But I have learned that it is normal, and it only shows how much I care about giving my best. On the other side, being a member in a band has helped me improve in many ways. It has made me grow as a person because I learned how to work with others, how to be more disciplined, and how to handle challenges. It also helped me grow as a singer because I get to explore different songs, practice my voice, and perform in front of different kinds of people.

Truth be told, music really changed my life in so many ways. It gives me confidence, it helps me express myself, and it teaches me lessons that I can also use outside the stage. For me, music is not only my passion—it is a big part of who I am.

Aside from music, I enjoy dancing, writing, and traveling. That’s why I decided to join Hive because I want to express myself more openly and share those experiences to the readers who await to feel heard through narratives. Since music was fabricated in my umbilical cord, the interests and hobbies I do always occur with music. While dancing, I move with the music freely, the same goes while writing and travelling.

I also go to the gym with some of my friends and if you are guessing, I listen to music while I scream my muscles..

I also love traveling, and I can share about the places I’ve been to; maybe it can give ideas to those who also want to visit. I also get the chance to travel to different places through my band. Aside from that, just this year, I was able to visit Paris because my relatives brought me there. It was such a nice experience, and I’m excited to share more of these stories with everyone here. I believe that every person has a story to tell, and through Hive, I want to tell mine while also learning from others.

As for who introduced me to Hive, I got to know the platform through my very close friend Hive account@whosee. He is really bright and also self-supporting like me. We were just talking one time about how I wanted to find something fun where I could also earn, and then he introduced me to Hive. He told me about how my travel experiences and photos would have a right place on this platform, where I can not only not share it but also earn a token as compensation for my stories. By the time he spoke of it, I got excited and told him that I'll have a shot. ’I was really amazed at that time because I felt like Hive could also help me improve my writing skills.

After that, we were oriented by Hive account@intoy.bugoy. He explained everything about what Hive is, what you can find here, and how it really works. Hive account@intoy.bugoy showed us that Hive is not just a simple platform but also a community where you can learn, share, and even grow as a person. The way he explained it was very clear and easy to understand, and it made me even more interested. He also inspired us a lot by sharing his own experiences and encouraging us to explore Hive. Listening to him gave me more confidence and excitement to finally join, and from that moment, I knew that Hive was something I really wanted to be part of.

In this united platform, I wanted to try sharing my journey while challenging myself to write more. Additionally, I want to passionately inspire people who are self-supporting while studying through my narrations—through my student life experiences that might inspire others to persevere, regardless of the battles we have to face. I have learned there are also a lot of communities here where various brilliant people can be found. I sense a deep connection here and I, for sure, will be meeting it soon. It would be a great opportunity to put marks on my ideas and help improve the part that needs to be improved. I want to contribute in a way that is long-term and fulfilling for all Hivers, in any way that I can.
