The Hamburger Helper Saga (40 boxes and counting)
The Hamburger Helper Saga
I was surfing the internet the other-day for the purpose of getting bulk supplies ordered directly to my door. Not the easiest of things to do as I live outside main routes in a rural community. I found a spot that would deliver but I had to reach a certain dollar amount spent before the delivery made sense. This prompted me to purchase a bunch of comfort foods. Another of the things ordered was a few boxes of various dry pasta. Some other supplies ordered included gourmet spreads, some healthy snacks along with a range of other supplies. Three or four days go by and I get an email stating some of the items I ordered had their stock run out. This included 15 bags of organic chips I ordered. "No longer in stock" --- Are we sure about that. Sounded reasonable enough so now I have to find substitutes for the items that are not available. I go view their list of items and look what I see --> The items on my original list still available for sale.
I email them back with a list of substitutes. Included in that email a list of items that are clearly for sale on their website that was said to be out of stock. One of my substitutes - 40 Boxes of Hamburger Helper. I was offered flat rate delivery for spending $XXX amount of dollars. So regardless of how big or small my order is my delivery cost is the same. I highly suspect they didn't want to ship me certain items because the volume of those items would make the shipping costly. A fair complaint if they were to say such but they didn't. After-all 15 large bags of organic chips does take up allot of volume and would be a costly delivery expense. Probably about the same amount of space those 40 boxes of Hamburger helpers are going to take up. It's been over a week since I ordered, a few days since the amendment to the order (at their request) but nothing has been shipped yet. If they get delivered I have no clue what I will do with such an amount of Hamburger Helper. I'd likely give them away to those in my local area. I suspect the business I ordered from are running the numbers of the total sale vs. the cost of shipping to me and are conflicted. I am interested to see what transpires next.
