Surviving Is Winning

A man prepared his whole month for a competition he was going to, this man is a rapper, he was going for a rap competition, wasn’t told he was going to be amongst the finalist until the night before. To prepare for the competition he had to write 15 raps, memorised them word for word and stayed ready. He went for the competition, and he rapped it, but it got so intense that they had to go to an extra round, this was something the man didn’t prepare for, but he had to improvise for the final round and won the battle. He was celebrated, he was given the grand prize, but he felt sad inside. The reason he felt sad was because, he kept asking himself what if he didn’t have that final impromptu rap that made him win?

He saw life this way, where it was an unplanned act that gave him his victory and that felt unpleasant to him. So what does that mean to how we approach life? Do we have to constantly have a back up plan for whatever we do just incase? What happens to when we don’t have that back up plan? Does it mean that all preparations were wasted? What if the other person had his own back up plan?
