From Loss to Laughter: My Birthday Story | LOH #293
I truly have no hard feelings about my birthdays. When I was very young my father passed away, after that incident I had stopped celebrating my birthday's. I thought of it as the same usual day. I totally had no excitement for many years, I never told anyone about my birthday and kept it a secret so that no one will be able to wish me. Also, I do not want gifts, parties, or special attention. I simply carried on with my life.
However, after getting married and becoming a father I have truly changed a lot. I am 50+ years old now, I have changed my stubborn feelings and decided to do everything as my family wanted. My wife and my two young daughters surprised me on each one of my birthday's. Honestly, they have brought the same comfort back to my life. I did not imagine for this day, but it happened and my family always try to surprise me in special ways. I do not get mad or upset when they plan surprises and get little gifts. Actually, I enjoy it as it makes me feel more loved. So, the best gift I could ever ask for is the happiness of my family.
Anyway, after marriage I have become a birthday planner. I enjoy planning birthdays for my family. I always wanted to create some happy memories with them. Seeing their excitement gives me great pleasure. And next year I have no plans for my birthday, because my family would be preparing surprise's for me as usual. I will simply enjoy the moment and be thankful for the love, care and happiness they bring into my life.
