๐ฆ The common rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)
- Carpodacus Greek: karpos fruit, daknล to bite
- erythrinus erythros (Greek, lat.) red
In about a month and a half, these beautiful birds will arrive. They could have arrived earlier, but for some reason unknown to scientists, they first fly far to the east and only then return to their usual nesting grounds, making a detour.
The males are bright pink, and the older the male, the brighter and more intense the pink. Females and young males up to two years old are similarly brown, "passerine" in color. The only difference between them is their song; only males sing. And these photos show males.
