๐ฆ The long-tailed tit or long-tailed bushtit (Aegithalos caudatus)
- Aegithalos (Greek): tit
- caudatus (lat.): tailed
You will not see these cute charming birds in the city in courtyards, parks and groves. And this is even despite the fact that they are very friendly towards other species of birds and humans.
Having met them in the forest, they will not fly away in horror as soon as they see you, no. They may well even be very close to you, especially if you attract them to the sound.
They prefer to live in the wild, in deciduous or mixed forests. They have short small beaks and cannot crush or crack seeds and nuts. Therefore, they are forced to search for food that is difficult for them, namely tiny plant seeds that they can swallow whole.
