Nunca había logrado fotografiar un ave tan de cerca, fue toda una experiencia. En mi trabajo, no muy lejos del suelo al alcance de mano de hasta un niño, por razones que desconozco esta ave puso su nido, el cual no tenía ni una sola rama, pero si cuatro lindos huevos. Un ave estaba alli dándole calor, me vio cómo una amenaza para sus huevos y se emplumo, por supuesto no quería lastimaría o llevarme sus huevos, quisiera haber estado más lejos pero mi lente no me lo permite, y aun su desagrado a tener una amenaza sigue siendo bello para mi verla en un estado salvaje y protector.

I had never managed to photograph a bird so closely before—it was quite an experience. At my workplace—not far from the ground and well within a child’s reach—for reasons unknown this bird built its nest without a single twig, yet it contained four lovely eggs.

One adult was there keeping them warm. When it spotted me, it saw a threat to its brood and fluffed its feathers; of course it didn’t intend to hurt me or carry off its eggs. I wish I could have stayed farther away, but my lens wouldn’t allow it, and even in its obvious displeasure at my presence, I found it beautiful to witness the bird in its wild, protective element.
