Stranded in the Desert, We Light a Candle at Difunta Correa Shrine in Argentina, Asking for a Ride.
It worked. After walking 30km over two days a battered old car finally gave us a ride shortly after lighting the candle. Hitchiking from another driver we later learned the origin of the shrine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Difunta_Correa
Since then we have seen dozens of similar Difunta Correa shrines, but none as large as this one located very far from any civilization. The main Difunta Correa shrine is located near her actual burial space in the village of Vallecito, San Juan, Argentina.
