Hola HIVE espero que todos se encuentren muy bien disfrutando de alguna manifestación artística.
On May 10th, the visual artist is commemorated in Venezuela. The arts festivals were celebrated at the university. On that day, my study group and I had planned to present a video installation, but since it was a Saturday and the university was not open, we couldn't use the projector. So we postponed that presentation to May 29th and did it inside the facilities of the Armando Reveron University UNEARTE.
El día 10 de mayo se conmemora al artista plástico en Venezuela, en la universidad se celebraron las fiestas de las artes, para ese día junto a mi grupo de estudios teníamos pensado presentar una video instalación, pero como era un sábado y la universidad no estaba abierta, no pudimos utilizar el proyector, por eso postergamos esa presentación para el pasado día 29 de mayo y lo hicimos dentro de las instalaciones de la universidad Armando Reveron UNEARTE.
The reason for this video installation was to commemorate several cultural activities, the birth of Armando Reveron (who in life was a master of the visual arts and who left a great legacy that immortalizes him) we also celebrate the day of the plastic artist and the cross of May, that is why the idea of making a video installation piece arose to represent all these cultural manifestations in a single meeting.
El motivo de esta video instalación era para conmemorar varias actividades culturales, el natalicio de Armando Reveron (quien en vida fue un maestro de la plástica y que dejo un gran legado que lo inmortaliza) también celebramos el día del artista plástico y la cruz de mayo, por eso surgió la idea de realizar una pieza video instalativa para representar todas esas manifestaciones culturales en un solo encuentro.
In the video you can see a visual narrative that shows the four artistic periods that Maestro Reveron worked in (blue, sepia, white and expressionist periods), all represented with flowers, which is what the May cross is adorned with. We can also see some illustrations of the macuto place where the maestro spent the rest of his life creating and studying light in a pictorial way. To set the mood for the video, a sound composition created from a "fulia" was used, and various sound effects of seagulls and waves were added to reference the beach.
En el video se puede apreciar una narrativa visual en donde se muestran los cuatro periodos artísticos que trabajo el maestro Reveron (periodo azul, sepia, blanco y expresionista) todo representado con flores que es con lo que se adorna la cruz de mayo, también podemos apreciar algunas ilustraciones de macuto lugar donde el maestro paso el resto de su vida creando y estudiando la luz de manera pictórica; para ambientar el video se usó una composición sonora creada a partir de una "fulia" y se le agregaron varios efectos sonoros de gaviotas y oleaje para referenciar la playa.
The idea of the video installation was to project this video onto the cross and two dolls (one of Reveron and one of Juanita, his partner) to cover these objects with light and thus represent Reveron's work, since the master always worked with light.
La idea de la video instalación era proyectar este video sobre la cruz y dos muñecos (uno de Reveron y otro de Juanita su compañera) para cubrir con luz esos objetos y así representar la obra de Reveron, ya que el maestro siempre trabajo la luz.
The screening lasted three hours with several breaks to prevent the projector from overheating. During the screening, sweet arepitas, fruit, and small ceramic souvenirs were distributed to all the students who passed by and stayed to enjoy the screening.
La proyección se prolongó por 3 horas con varias pausas para no sobre calentar el proyector, en el transcurso se repartieron arepitas dulces, frutas y unos recuerditos realizados en cerámica a todos los estudiantes que pasaron por el lugar y se quedaron a apreciar la proyección.
This is my first time participating in a video installation. These types of artworks are part of my current specialty, "mixed media." I'd never seen a mixed media art exhibition at the university since I entered. The dean of the university congratulated us for daring to do this type of art exhibition to make our work more visible. Esta es la primera vez que participo en una video instalación, este tipo de piezas artísticas son parte de la especialidad que estudio actualmente los "medios mixtos", en la universidad desde ingrese nunca había visto una muestra artística de la especialidad de medios mixtos, el decano de la universidad nos felicitó por atrevernos a realizar este tipo de muestras artísticas para visibilizar más nuestro trabajo, así seguiremos creando y creciendo juntos.
