Project Burner: Concept Art First Drafts Polyp
Images made by Project Burner
The next first draft concept art is another Koth creature, this one still further developed. I am cognizant of the level of detail I am putting into these monsters, as I do not want to overdesign them. Inspired by a coral polyp, this monster retains the general structure and feeding tentacles, but becomes mobile with four insectile legs. The tail splits into three, with scorpion like stingers at the end. The tails are long chains of vertebrae, with the bones exposed. As far as part of the larger Koth superorganism, I think the creature is definitely further than the crawler, retaining its insectile legs, although the tail is a pretty big departure from the crawler. As far as gameplay, I am thinking this is a fast dog sized monster which has an ACID DoT when it uses its tail, and then probably a bite attack, and maybe even a jab like attack where the front legs are extended forward quickly. I am going to finish off this first draft concept art mini-series tomorrow with one last monster.
