Biking to HiveFest #2 - Tarvisio - Trieste

Today I started leg two of my journey. After having breakfast I started at around 8am from Tarvisio. The plan was to head all the way to Trieste.

The first part, down the valley, was slightly downhill and was very nice to ride, as the bike trail was built along an old railroad track.

Once I was out of the valley, it started getting hot. I am not complaining though, as I prefer hot, over light rain 😉 so I was heading towards Udine now. The bike road went through the country side and had a lot of different views and different type of terrain to offer, so it wasn't getting boring.

Once I reached Udine I had already completed a bit over half of the total distance. After a break I continued onwards towards the coast. On the way I crossed a professional road biking race. Therefore I stopped and waited for ~10 minutes to have a quick peak at the front of the race. I really do mean quick, because I saw them for less than a second before they were gone. Their speed was just crazy.

I continued onwards, first to Monfalcone and then along the coast to Trieste. There I treated myself with a reward and watched the sunset.

In total I did 182km and 650 vertical meteres in 7h 15 today.

Tomorrow I plan on doing a bit shorter section from Trieste to Rijeka.
