Walrus, The decentralized storage network powered by Sui has launched.
Mysten Lab has introduced Walrus, a decentralized storage network that uses Sui for coordination and offers two main benefits: Cost-Effective Storage & High Availability.
With Walrus you can store, read, and certify the availability of large amounts of data on a network of distributed storage nodes. This allows media files like images, videos, game assets, AI models and dApps front-ends to be stored and served as Walrus Sites.
Walrus is secured by Sui Blockchain, a horizontally scalable Byzantine fault-tolerant (BFT) and Delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) consensus blockchain. A public Walrus devnet is now available to all developers for preview and comments.
