Homegrown Goodness Picking and Enjoying Super Sweet Sugar Apples From Our Own Tree
right outside our house stands our own sugar apple tree which we also call atis. it has been growing there for years standin strong under the sun and rain. we did not do anything special to it just let it grow naturally in its own place. now it has become a big healthy tree that gives us plenty of fruit every season.
this time around it is really heavy with fruit. So many have grown that the branches look like they are bending low just to hold them all. it feels wonderful to see it hitik loaded from top to bottom. you can tell just by looking that it is going to be a good harvest for us this year.
yesterday we went out to pick some. we chose the ones that felt soft and had turned a little yellow‑green. it was easy to twist them off the stem. bringing them inside felt like bringing home a nice gift from our own garden no need to spend money buying from the market.
the skin is bumpy and scaly but gentle to hold once ready. when you open itthe inside is pure white soft and creamy. it looks just like what you see in the picture clean and plump ready to eat. the black seeds are easy to spot and remove.
the best part is the flavor. it is very sweet almost like sugar mixed with soft custard. it melts right in your mouth and feels cool and refreshing perfect for our warm weather. every bite makes you want to take another one because it tastes so good.
this tree does not ask for much. it only needs sunlight and a little water when it gets too dry. it grows well here in our place without fancy fertilizers or extra work. it is the kind of plant that gives back more than what you give it.
having this tree is a real joy. we eat as much as we want and we also share with neighbors and family. it feels great to have something natural and sweet right at our doorstep. this sugar apple tree is truly a precious part of our home.
