[Retrogaming] Chpt 3 / Story 2: Defeat the Giant Spear Man! | Warioland II (Game Boy Color)
My 3Speaking Today
Hey, what's up, players! I hope that you are all doing very well in this last week of the month of June. It truly pleases me very much to have you here again on my gaming channel on 3Speak, and even more so today as we are going with one of my all-time favorite video games, that being Warioland II for the Game Boy Color. Today we will be completing Story 2 of Chapter 3 of Warioland II, where among many things we will be defeating another sub boss of the game. This sub boss, just as the title of the Story itself announces, is known simply as The Giant Spear Man, whom we will have to face at the end of the level after having confronted a large number of obstacles and enemies characteristic of this hell known as 'The Woods' in Wario's world.
Using the Flaming Wario Form. In this level we will have to know how to make use of one of Wario's most fun and interesting forms, which is the 'Flaming Wario' form, in order to overcome many of the obstacles we will encounter along the way. By the way, it is easy to recognize when you must use a specific form of Wario to break certain types of blocks that are blocking our path, since for example in this level we can see that at the very beginning we come across some blocks that have a flame drawing inscribed on them, which indicates that we must use the Flaming Wario form at its fullest, as you can observe at around second 00:25 after transforming upon being incinerated by the flamethrower of a flame type enemy. By the way, the Flaming Wario form is achieved simply by allowing yourself to be attacked by the flame type enemies, you know, those little bastard foxes that carry a flamethrower with them 😁
Knowing How to Use the Environment. If you want to obtain as many coins as possible for Wario's loot, you will truly have to make excellent use of all the resources in the environment. For example, as can be appreciated at around minute 03:40, we have to use a turtle in order to advance through an aquatic area with strong currents that upon falling will drag us right back to the starting point, causing us a very evident delay. In addition to this it is also advisable to carefully inspect the environment before eliminating every possible type of enemy, and I say this because many enemies such as the pirate goons for example, can be used as improvised trampolines to reach very high areas of the level and thus obtain hard to reach coins for our favorite antihero.
The Giant Spear Man. Well, this is the first sub boss we come across in this Chapter 3 of Warioland II, and it consists of a giant version of any ordinary Pirate goon, who has a very high damage resistance but lacks good speed. We will therefore have to take advantage of this lack of agility on his part and always attack him from above with the aim of managing to evade the attack of his giant spear. To defeat the Giant Spear Man with great ease we will have to use the various platforms surrounding him and from there fall right on top of his head, always remembering that we will have to land several blows before defeating him. By the way, in this level we managed to obtain the additional treasure, which turned out to be a magic bow, and we were also able to unlock another fragment of the final painting right upon finishing the level. So we can say it was an excellent gameplay ✌😃
And well friends, I will leave things here for today. I hope you enjoyed this new Wario gameplay. For my part I thank you very much for your attention and support to this 3Speak channel : ) Cheers.
