parkrun celebration for my son in law
Saturday I was accompanied by three parkrun friends from Redcliffe to complete Calamvale parkrun located in the Southern suburbs of Brisbane about 1 hour drive from my house at Redcliffe to celebrate my son-in-law, Travis 250th parkrun and enjoy post parkrun brekky and coffee whilst exchanging parkrun stories of recent international parkruns completed
My daughter Katrina who has completed 526 parkruns, designed a green T shirt for Travis to wear for the occasion which displayed his number of tourist locations and volunteer credits prior to him purchasing an official parkrun green 250 T shirt
During the RD brief, Mike, a member of the RD team announced Travis’ milestone and thoughtfully and generously presented him a 6 pack of beer which he deceitfully but skilfully changed the commercial name of the pack from Travla to Travis and being a beer drinker, Travis was elated
Katrina and Travis have always trumpeted the community spirit of the vollie team and participants at Calamvale which was certainly to the fore and endorsed by us. Thanks team Calamvale for your consideration and effort
The 2 lap course surface is entirely concrete path with a few undulations measuring a total of 28m elevation on my Garmin with ample parking, toilets, water bubblers and shelters makes Calamvale an ideal situation for a parkrun
