Disappearing mountains.

This is not a black and white post, but it could be if you see what's in here.

I want to show you how quickly the weather can change over here in the Cape, as it depends on strong winds that bring rain clouds over in a hurry. These are all views taken during the morning, and I have decided to do a "Before" and "After" sequence. Meaning that I will show, first the clear views and then the dark views. Within a half an hour over here, the weather looks completely different, and the dark can cause many car accidents to take place during these periods. Not a good time to be on the road.

But we were at a meeting with one of Papillon's board members and we just had to attend the meeting as we are planning a new partnership project. The economic situation in our country is very dire, and millions are unemployed. So, life has become a real struggle for so many souls, especially if they have big families to feed. But thankfully there are many non-profits that assist where they can. Our focus now is on the street people that sleep under cardboard at night during this winter season. I don't want to say too much at this stage, and when we launch the project then I will tell you more about it.
So, for now come and see what I have to share.

The grand old rainbow should have alerted us to the fact that rain clouds would soon arrive.

And arrive they did, as the streets, mountains and hills turned like this below while we were still on the road.

This is the before. Early morning.

And this is the after, still in the morning. Gone, the mountain has disappeared.

I follow the same system of the before and after in the photos below.

Finally, the Pied Crow (Corvus albus) didn't seem to mind about the weather.

Some say that it is dismal weather and the locals are used to it. We have also now after 8 years become used to it. Hundreds of families are migrating into the Cape, and the new arrivals from far up north struggle to acclimatize to the strange weather in the Cape of Storms. There are constant changes here and I've told you before that we border on the Atlantic Ocean that can also get very wild.

Maybe we must pop down to the beach for me to get some shots to show you what things look like down there. In fact, we will go and I will do a post of what my camera sees down there. The beach is only 6 kilometers away from our home. The dual living between the beach and the mountains delivers a Mediterranean climate resulting in very fruitful soil and the area is covered in grape farm vineyards. The best of both worlds, and during Spring and Summer it becomes overloaded with tourists.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
