Steamed Eggs with Soy Sauce Soup
What do you usually make with egg whites? Yeah, egg whites are often left over after baking cakes at home. This always gets me thinking about how to turn them into a delicious dish. Not only can you make cookies with egg whites, but you can also turn them into savory treats that are especially enjoyable during the rainy season like this.
Cooking is always about discovering something valuable, isn’t it? This recipe is my latest inspiration for turning egg whites into an extraordinary dish that you can enjoy guilt-free, even while on a strict diet. This healthy dish will inspire you to prepare simple meals at home. It’s steamed and served with a fresh, sweet-and-savory soup made from soy sauce and granulated sugar.
I’ve named it “Steamed Egg Whites with Soy Sauce Soup.” I chose this name because of the preparation method. I love the final result, even though it might have a slightly fishy taste for those who aren’t big on egg whites—but in my opinion, that’s completely masked by the soy sauce soup, which minimizes that flavor.
Ingredients
Ingredients for Steamed Egg Whites
150 ml egg whites
50 ml water
¼ teaspoon bouillon powder
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Ingredients for Soy Sauce Soup
200 ml water
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 stalk green onion
Preparation Instructions
Add the bouillon powder and soy sauce to the egg whites. Then add the soy sauce.
Next, add water and stir until well combined. Prepare a mold by greasing it with margarine, then pour the mixture into the mold.
Steam until cooked through, then set aside and let it cool slightly before removing it from the mold.
Next, combine the soup ingredients in a pot, add everything, and cook until it comes to a boil twice.
Finally, once everything is cooked, pour it into a serving bowl and let the flavors meld together.
Result
Look at how beautiful it turned out—and don’t doubt that the taste is incredibly authentic and delicious. I think it’s like enjoying silky-smooth rahu sutra. The salty, savory flavor is just right—even though I didn’t use salt while cooking, the addition of soy sauce actually makes it even more delicious.
So, for those of you who can bake cakes and have extra egg whites—which you might usually just use for frying—give this recipe a try. I’m sure you’ll love it.
