The case for Polyamory?

Polyamory is a kind of relationship in which multiple romantic partners can co-exist in a consensual and transparent arrangement, as an alternative to conventional relationships which better suits the respective personal needs of the individuals involved.

You might even call it...a loves hack.

Homo Sapiens have existed around 300,000 years, give or take a few millenia. Monogamy among humans about 10,000 years. This heavily implies monogamy is memetic not genetic (as in, for it to be genetic, it would have to almost fundamentally alter human understanding of evolution, natural selection, and genetics as well know it.)

Monogamy arose among humans in very specific circumstances and is not culturally universal. Academic evo-psych examines this phenomenon and identifies those conditions as requiring strict patriarchy with significant structural gender power imbalances, as well as a heavily stratified society with significant economic and sociopolitical power imbalances between strata of society.

So yeah, as society becomes more egalitarian, we will almost certainly see a rise in various forms of consensual non-monogamy, especially ones with balance amongst genders (so equal amounts of polyandry and polygyny).
