I'd been planning this appointment for a while, a minor dental procedure that, due to its difficulty, wasn't to be done at my usual dentist but at the hospital. So this morning, I went to the appointment a little anxious, because who likes the dentist and who likes going to the hospital? Luckily, after completing the paperwork, they called me right away. The room was really large and clean, very different from my office, and the hospital dentist was young but very kind from the start. He gave me a good dose of anesthesia because my wisdom tooth was impacted, meaning it was stuck between the gum, bone, and another tooth, so he had to give me a larger dose than usual. Haha, I couldn't feel my tongue anymore! At least my husband was able to enjoy some silence afterwards. Haha. Then he started working, luckily I felt little pain, but the wisdom tooth wasn't cooperative and the doctor even had to remove some bone to extract it; it was very firmly embedded. Anyway, he was good, very calm.

Así que esta mañana fui a la cita un poco nerviosa, porque ¿a quién le gusta el dentista y a quién le gusta ir al hospital? Por suerte, después de completar el papeleo, me llamaron enseguida. La habitación era muy grande y limpia, muy diferente a mi consulta, y el dentista del hospital era joven pero muy amable desde el principio. Me puso una buena dosis de anestesia porque tenía la muela del juicio impactada, es decir, atrapada entre la encía, el hueso y otra muela, así que tuvo que ponerme una dosis mayor de lo habitual. ¡Jaja, ya no sentía la lengua! Al menos mi marido pudo disfrutar de un poco de silencio después. Jaja. Luego empezó a trabajar, por suerte sentí poco dolor, pero la muela del juicio no cooperaba y el doctor incluso tuvo que quitarle hueso para extraerla; estaba muy firmemente encajada. En fin, estaba bien, muy tranquilo.

As soon as the surgery was over, the dentist prescribed antibiotics and painkillers, giving me some recommendations: not to chew on the side where the surgery was performed (this evening it was easy, my whole mouth hurts so much that I only had dinner with a pureed minestrone soup, certainly not my usual feast), nothing too hot or cold, no rinsing or brushing for a day, ice to apply to my cheek, and other small precautions. For now, I had to take another painkiller because after trying to rest a bit on the couch, it hurt like hell. I hope to feel better tomorrow; luckily, I had a decent dinner last night (I'll post my prescription from yesterday later), because today I think I'll eat little to nothing and take too much medication. En cuanto terminó la cirugía, el dentista me recetó antibióticos y analgésicos, y me dio algunas recomendaciones: no masticar del lado de la cirugía (esta noche fue fácil, me duele tanto la boca que solo cené una sopa minestrone hecha puré, que no es mi antojo habitual), nada demasiado caliente ni demasiado frío, no enjuagarme ni cepillarme los dientes durante un día, hielo para aplicarme en la mejilla y otras pequeñas precauciones. Por ahora, tuve que tomar otro analgésico porque, después de intentar descansar un poco en el sofá, me dolía muchísimo. Espero sentirme mejor mañana; por suerte, cené bien anoche (más tarde publicaré mi receta de ayer), porque hoy creo que comeré poco o nada y tomaré demasiada medicación.
