Finding the directory folder, to solve common issues

When setting up a masternode, sometimes errors can happen from time to time, configuring the masternode conf file and similar things along the way. This is most commonly the cause of typing errors and can cause your wallet to malfunction and not open.

The solution is often to access the inner files of Nodium to edit the masternode conf to it’s correct settings or simply delete the contents within it and restart.

Finding the folder is quite useful when wanting to make a wallet.dat backup outside of the wallet.

Below are the steps to access this folder in mac and Windows. (Please ensure you have closed the running wallet completely before accessing these files)

Windows

1. Go to the search bar on your windows desktop (bottom left)
2. Type the following %appdata%
3. Look for the Nodium folder
4. Inside you will find the wallet.dat and masternode conf file amongst the rest of the wallets information, this is where you can manually backup or edit these files

Mac

1. Click the Finder icon on the dock
2. Press Command+SHIFT+”G” to “Go to the folder”
3. Input “~/Library” and hit RETURN.
4. This will allow you to access the Library folder and inside go to “Application Support” and once there you can see the data directories for all of your Wallets including Nodium.
5. Enter this directory and inside you will find the wallet.dat and masternode conf file amongst the rest of the wallets information, this is where you can manually backup or edit these files
