My Greatest Hobby Fail
I’m a very outgoing person but I sometimes prefer to be alone. One very good thing about me is I love doing fun things with the people around me and I love to explore and take risks. This trait of mine landed me in trouble a while back and I knew I had to take a step back. Long story short, my friends and I have this usual end of month hangout where we either have a movie night at home, go to a fancy restaurant to eat or go out to party. So, I know that I must save some money for that at the beginning of every month.
That particular month, I was on a very tight budget but then a colleague of mine had been asking to hang out with my friend and I- more of a ladies thing and I honestly told my friend I didn’t have that in my budget for the month. She understood that and told this colleague of ours to postpone it. But one day, during a conversation my friend made a statement that meant to say that she wanted us to hang out but I was the one holding things back. I didn’t want to be the mood killer so I told them we could go out.
The day was set and we had so much fun. Now, tell me why this colleague who wanted us to hang out contributed little to nothing at the end of the whole thing and you won’t believe she came with a very high taste. Ordering the most expensive stuff and all. Guy, i had to eat noodles that entire week because I spent way out of my budget. After that , my friend and I made a decision to never hang out with that person cos they really took advantage of us.
And it was in that moment I knew that I needed to stick to the usual and also make sure to know what I’m getting into before take the next steps.
