Finding myself

The summer house smelled like salt and sunscreen, and something else she couldn’t quite remember.

My brother tells me I had an accident diving headfirst off the pier; apparently, I'm on vacation with my family.

But it's strange to have amnesia. I remember my name and what my life was like a year ago, but everything else is a blank.

I went for a walk along the beach to try to clear my memory. When the sun set, I sat down and meditated. I guess I've become a spiritual person.

After breathing deeply and focusing on clearing my mind, little by little, thoughts, ideas, and memories returned, and I became myself again.
