Not a Five Star Life but a 7 star happiness -LOH Contest #291

Hello beautiful Ladies of Hive!!!

Thank you for this week's thoughtful question. As soon as I read it, countless memories rushed back into my mind. Some memories still bring tears to my eyes, while others remind me how merciful ''God'' has been throughout my journey.

The question is:

"Did someone support you during your hardest time? How did they help?"

My answer may be a little different from others because the greatest support I received during the most difficult chapter of my life came from ''God''.

A Life That Once Felt Complete

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, our life was comfortable and peaceful. By the grace of ''God'', my husband had a very good career as a Senior Manager in Design and Development at a buying house. Alongside his job, he also owned a printing factory.

We were blessed with two wonderful sons who filled our home with happiness and laughter every day. Both my family and my in-laws loved and respected us. My father was especially attached to me and my husband. Looking back now, those days feel like a beautiful dream.

When COVID-19 first appeared, we never imagined that it would completely change our lives.

When Everything Started Falling Apart

During the early days of the pandemic, we were actually helping other people. We distributed rice, groceries, and daily necessities to families who were struggling. We believed that the difficult time would pass quickly.

But as the months went by, orders from our factory began to disappear. One by one, customers canceled their contracts. We continued paying workers' salaries for months even though there was almost no income.

To save the factory, we sold a piece of land. We hoped things would recover soon, but unfortunately they didn't. Eventually, the factory could no longer survive, and my husband also lost his job.

I remember feeling as if the ground beneath my feet had disappeared.

A New Battle: My Health

Just when I thought things could not get worse, another storm arrived.

I became seriously ill.

My husband took me from one hospital to another, searching desperately for answers. We visited countless doctors. Our savings continued to disappear, and my physical condition became worse.

The emotional pressure was unbearable. Fear, uncertainty, and financial hardship slowly affected my mental health. I lost interest in everything around me. I felt trapped in darkness.

At one point, doctors even suggested psychiatric treatment because my mental condition had deteriorated so much.

The Pain of Disappointment

Like many people facing hardship, I believed that relatives and loved ones would stand beside us during our difficult days.

Sadly, reality taught me a different lesson.

Many of the people we had supported in the past disappeared when we needed them most. Some even contributed to our struggles instead of helping us.

That experience was painful, but it also opened my eyes.

Hardship has a strange way of revealing who truly cares and who does not.

The One Who Never Left

When every door seemed closed, I turned completely toward ''God''.

I cried in prayer.

I asked for strength when I felt weak.

I asked for hope when I felt hopeless.

And slowly, something remarkable happened.

My health began to improve.

Not overnight. Not instantly.

But little by little, ''God'' guided me back toward healing.

That was the moment I truly understood that human support can disappear, but the support of our Creator never does.

A Different Life, A Grateful Heart

Today, six years later, our life is very different.

We no longer live the lifestyle we once had. My husband has not returned to the career position he held before the pandemic. Eventually, we left the city and moved to our village.

Surprisingly, this simpler life has taught me many valuable lessons.

We are surrounded by greenery, fresh air, trees, ponds, ducks, chickens, and the beauty of nature. We grow things with our own hands and learn to appreciate blessings that money cannot buy.

Most importantly, ''God'' continues to provide for us every single day.

Through difficult years, He has fulfilled our basic needs and protected our family. He showed me that sustenance does not always come from a salary. Sometimes it comes from unexpected places and unseen blessings.

At this point, many people may be wondering, "How do I survive now?" Let me explain.

Why do we earn money? Primarily, we earn to meet our basic needs and purchase the things required for daily life. Although I no longer have the steady cash income that we once enjoyed, our needs continue to be met in different ways.

We still have access to the essentials needed for a comfortable life-fresh fish, meat, vegetables, spices, clothing, personal care items, and even opportunities for enjoyment and recreation.

Most of our vegetables come directly from our own land. We grow tomatoes, eggplants, green chilies, onions, potatoes, and many other seasonal crops.

The fish comes from our pond, while the meat comes from the ducks, chickens, and goats that we raise ourselves.

As for the items we cannot produce, such as toothpaste, soap, lotion, cream, clothing, and other household necessities, we purchase them with the money we earn from selling some of our ducks, chickens, and other farm products.

Perhaps we no longer visit five-star hotels or expensive restaurants every week as we once did. However, we often prepare delicious meals at home using fresh, natural ingredients from our own surroundings. We enjoy those meals in a peaceful and beautiful environment filled with greenery and fresh air.

To be honest, the experience feels far more valuable than dining in a luxury restaurant. The simplicity, freshness, and tranquility of village life often feel equivalent to a seven-star experience-something that money alone cannot buy.
To stay healthy, we also need fruits as an important source of nutrition. By the grace of God, I have around 110 fruit trees consisting of 35 different varieties of fruits. These include mangoes, blackberries (jamun), jackfruit, jujube (boroi), guava, oranges, coconuts, and many more.

These trees help fulfill our family's nutritional needs by providing fresh, organic fruits throughout the year. We enjoy eating fresh fruits directly from our garden, and we also earn some cash by selling the surplus harvest.

In this way, our fruit trees not only contribute to our health but also provide an additional source of income. They are a constant reminder that Allah's blessings can come in many forms, often from the very land beneath our feet.

And every now and then, we even enjoy our own "7-star hotel" parties at home.

Final Thoughts

If someone asks me who supported me during the hardest time of my life, my answer will always be the same:

''God''

When people walked away, He stayed.

When hope faded, He gave me strength.

When I thought everything was finished, He showed me a new path forward.

For that reason, I carry endless gratitude in my heart.

Life may not look the way I once imagined, but today I have something even more valuable: faith, resilience, and the certainty that ''God'' never abandons His servants.

Thank you for reading my story.

May ''God'' ease the hardships of everyone who is struggling and fill your hearts with hope.

With love,
A grateful soul
