I grew up in Caimito del Guayabal, a town 40 km from Havana, where Federico García Lorca once stayed with his friend Maroto. I was always raised to love the land. As an adult, Havana welcomed me as an adopted son, and I learned to make it my own as well. |

That's why I'm interested in documenting its life and its people through photography. All of this has made me a better person and taught me to be more disciplined—the discipline to understand and show others what my eyes see. |

Learning about its history has also helped me—it's very interesting, by the way—and every time I'm on a street, I picture the anecdotes I've read in books. |

That's how the hours go by—between the heat of the day and my mind generating ideas for capturing the best images; it all translates into pure delight. |

These are some of the photographs I've been taking this week. I'm not aiming for the perfect image, but rather to show the raw, unvarnished reality of my surroundings. |

These are difficult times—times for survival and documentation, as a friend tells me. That's why I don't waste a single moment, and I feel the satisfaction of being able to share my work with the community. Thank you all. |
