A Little Splash of Sunshine

There are times when one is just bored with everyday life. People usually move around the same places, walking the same route, looking at their shoes or at their troubles. However, nature always has a surprise for people when least expected. Recently, I went walking on a very tough road. There were no pretty soft grasses or trees there, only an ordinary road covered with grey stones and dry soil. It seemed that nothing beautiful would ever grow there. Nevertheless, suddenly I bent to look down and saw a small but bright creature greeting the sky. It was a small yellow flower.

I stopped where I was and took out my phone since I really needed to immortalize the moment. Pictures that I made during that walk bring a lot of joy to me each time I look through my gallery.

In the first picture, I tried to capture the feelings that this flower gave me. I created an effect that turned everything in the background into black and white while keeping the flower in its original yellow. In this picture, the contrast is very high. The ground is covered with cold gray pebbles and rocks, yet in the center, there is a little bit of sunshine – the yellow flower that seems like a piece of the sun fallen from the sky. It is so beautiful with all those perfectly positioned petals. There are some buds that are waiting to bloom in the future next to the main flower; they are located on dark thin branches.

From the other perspective, I shot the flower very closely in order to observe it in its natural colors and details. This picture is entirely colored, and the background is slightly blurred out. Sunlight hits the yellow petals, making them appear gentle and soft. Close to the central flower, one can notice a tiny green bud, with only some yellow parts visible at the top of it. One can say it looks like a baby next to its mother. Such a perspective brings me peace in mind and soul. It reveals the reality of the flower's life in the dry soil. It demonstrates how life is always working and developing, even under harsh conditions of lack of water and poor soil.
